Hearts of Those in Distant Beds, or, Bir Yastıkta Kocayamayanlar (2020)

Epoxy resin sculptures, chains, jesmonite casted pillow, carved sandstone crystallised with potassium alum and filled with rose water, varied dimensions.

'Hearts of Those in Distant Beds' explores the feelings of separation and melancholia inextricable to love. The vulnerability of such a subject matter is projected through material vulnerabilities. A pillow, a coin of intimacy, is forcefully bound and divided into two fractions through ropes and chains, for the lovers within the sculptural story cannot lay in the same pillow.

Displayed in University of Leeds Second Year Fine Art show (2020).
