'the wine of love is bitter' (2020)
Turkish (original) and English (translated) poetry printed on diptych satin panels (160 x 120 cm each), archival photographs printed on Perspex (70 x 50 cm each) (hung with fishing line) and soil.
A poem sung by my grandmother about the bitterness of love is printed onto white satin, inspired by the fabric of her bridal gown. Two dichotomous photographs are positioned opposite each other: one being the wedding photograph of my grandparents and the other a war photograph depicting my grandfather.
